Their efforts won the club a blue ribbon, a green Most Creative ribbon and a pink Judge's Commendation ribbon. This is the third year in a row the club has won blue in the Club Challange class.
Individual blue ribbons were one by Colleen Gerhard (1 design) and Roberta Stevens (2 horticulture) and 1 red and yellow ribbon Roberta Stevens (horticulture) and an individual white ribbon (design) to Linda Kirkpatrick.

June 13, 2024 Members of the Portsmouth Garden Club represented the club and Portsmouth well at “The Trip to Bountiful,” a National Garden Club Horticulture Specialty Flower Show in East Providence on June 13, 2024. The members representing the club were Linda Kirkpatrick, Linda Howard and Karen Saucier.
Among the ribbons won were four first place blues, five second place reds including three 90+s (given when a blue would have been awarded had not one entry been slightly better) and a few thirds and Honorable Mentions.
Karen Saucier received a 90+ ribbon for an excellent Educational Exhibit depicting the life cycle of butterflies. Using photographs, descriptive signage, illustrative materials and handouts, she emphasized the need for butterflies in our eco system.
Linda Kirkpatrick was awarded an Award of Merit Section Award for her Aucuba, an entry in “Generous,” an entry in a class for foliage-cut specimens. She received the Grower’s Choice Award, the Section Award for an entry in “Myriad,” a class of container-grown foliage plants. This Begonia entry was also awarded the Horticultural Excellent award, the overall best entry in the show.

2023 June Club Blue Ribbon Winner again!
June 23-25, 2023, Newport Flower Show Club Competitions Class.
Twelve entries were allowed, four of which were primarily blue and four were white plants in a Chinese vase. The Show theme was "the Grand Tour". The inspiration for the Chinese vase for the Preservation Society Tea House was Shan-Shai Lanscape painting, Shan meaning "mountain" and Shau"\meaning "river". A central potato bush as a standard tree, represents the mountain and blue and silver plants represent the river.
The committee was composed of Nancy Oliveira, Karen Saucier, Suzan Ballard, Jane Thomas and Ann Gizzi (not pictured)
